CAMP SIMCHA POLICIES
1. ALL ORIENTATIONS AND TRAINING SESSIONS ARE MANDATORY FOR ALL STAFF. MEETING DATES WILL BE SENT OUT ONCE SCHEDULED.
2. TWO TARDIES ARE ALLOWED. IF YOU ARE RUNNING LATE, YOU MUST CALL EITHER JENI BUCHHOLZ 305-799-6261 OR THE CAMP OFFICE AT (305)932-2829 ext. 7848 TO LET THEM KNOW. TARDIES CAN LEAD TO PAYMENT DOCK AND/OR DISMISSAL FROM CAMP PROGRAM.
3. DRESS CODE:
a. STAFF SHIRT MUST BE WORN EVERY DAY AND THE STAFF SHIRT MAY NOT BE MODIFIED IN ANY WAY THAT IS
CONSIDERED INAPPROPRIATE. IT IS UP TO THE DIRECTOR’S DISCRETION WHAT IS CONSIDERED
INAPPROPRIATE.
b. THEME DAYS ARE EVERY FRIDAY. ALL STAFF ARE EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE WITH ENTHUSIASM.
c. LEGGINGS, SPANDEX, NO VISIBLE UNDERGARMENTS ARE PERMITTED.
d. SHORTS MUST COVER BUTTOCKS, PLUS THREE INCHES.
e. NO PIERCINGS OTHER THAN IN GIRLS’ EARS MAY BE VISIBLE. NO TATTOOS MAY BE VISIBLE.
f. BETH TORAH I.D. BADGES MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.
g. GIRLS MUST EITHER WEAR A ONE-PIECE BATHING SUIT OR A DARK COLORED SHIRT OVER THEIR TWO-PIECE.
h. ALL STAFF MUST WEAR CLOSED-TOE SHOES.
4. STAFF MUST BE SIGNED IN AND IN THEIR CLASSROOM EACH DAY BY 8:00 AM.
5. COUNSELORS MAY LEAVE CAMP WHEN THEIR LAST CAMPER LEAVES, UNLESS THERE IS A CAMP MEETING OR TRAINING SESSION. CAMP TYPICALLY ENDS AT 3:30PM. ALL STAFF MUST STAY AFTER CAMP ON WEDNESDAY FOR A WEEKLY STAFF MEETING
6. IF YOU KNOW THAT YOU WILL BE MISSING CAMP FOR ANY REASON, PLEASE NOTIFY THE CAMP OFFICE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
7. CELL PHONES ARE NOT PERMITTED DURING THE CAMP DAY. IF YOU NEED TO USE YOUR PHONE, PLEASE LET YOUR SENIOR COUNSELOR KNOW, AND GO SOMEWHERE PRIVATE OR TO THE CAMP OFFICE.
8. COUNSELORS SHOULD NEVER CARRY CAMPERS.
9. ALL SENIOR COUNSELORS AND SPECIALIST MUST COMPLETE A BACKGROUND CHECK AND BE FINGER PRINTED. ALL COUNSELORS AND STAFF ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OVERALL CAMPER HAPPINESS, SAFETY, AND THE SUCCESS OF THE CAMP. YOU ARE HERE TO FACILITATE THE CAMP PROGRAMS. YOUR ROLE IS TO MAKE SURE OUR CAMPERS ARE HAVING
THE BEST POSSIBLE TIME, WHILE CONDUCTING AND PRESENTING YOURSELVES IN AN APPROPRIATE AND
PROFESSIONAL MANNER.
